Fat & Frantic 5 - How Cool is this?

Welcome Tuff to the blog, yes after my most popular posts in the past being about Fat & Frantic one of the band has found it and joined the discussion and I can now reveal there is even the possibility of FAFs music becoming available on itunes which is so exciting (I’m not quite sure why I am so excited as I think I have most of it) we will now be able to get hold of these fantastic tunes again, replace lost or damaged recordings and introduce so many more people to the music that has so enriched our lives. This is the music that started off my passion for red telephone boxes (which now means I have a collection of over 60 models and have even been known (in my younger years) with a friend to serenade a phone box, this got the attention of the people in the restraint opposite I can tell you).
This is great news Tuff, thanks for bringing it to us and please do keep us informed of any progress.

PS. If all goes to plan there should be a ‘filled under’ just below here which means that you should from now on be able to find posts on certain subjects a bit easier, including previous Fat & Frantic ones.

Fat and Frantic 4

I have had a request about finding a copy of quirk from someone who no longer has their copy, the only place I have found is http://www.musicstack.com but this appears to be in Australia and they only seem to have vinyl so not probably all that helpful, the campaign to get FAF on iTunes never really took off as very few (in fact I think none maybe one) showed any interest we could start a petition here, please sign leave a comment to the affect that you would like to see FAF available on I tunes and then I can try and progress it from there. To the anonymous commenter who asked the question I’m sorry I can’t be more helpful at this stage.

Fat and Frantic 3

I am beginning to think it’s time to post on this subject again, I have had 2 more comments in the last 2 days on my original post back in February, maybe this is because that original post comes up on the first on the first page of a google for Fat and Frantic. Anyway I am beginning to think with this much interest wouldn’t it be great if we could make Fat and Frantic’s music more easily available. Should we start a campaign to get Fat and Frantic’s music on iTunes. I don’t know how we would start such a campaign, I’m not sure how easy it would be for iTunes to get hold of the music but it think it would be good to try and perhaps if we could get them to put one of their tracks as the free track of the week to help more people discover this British treasure. Then the only other thing I would like to do is set up a tribute band ‘Thin and Lethargic’ (when I say the only thing I mean the main other thing I would like to do in remembrance of this great band.) what are your thoughts? Which track do you think should be made available for free to get people into the Fat and Frantic vibe?

Fat and Frantic 2

This seems to be an issue on people heart, the entry that I wrote on Fat and Frantic over a month ago now has had more comments (including one yesterday) that all the posts I have written since put together, I think I shall just write about them from now on as it is obviously a greater discussion starter/community builder.
However I shall be writing the piece hinted at at the end of last week with the Argos deliver saga!

Fat and Frantic!

Just had a meeting talking about printing off some stuff for the local churches together, somehow we got onto talking about my obsession with red telephone boxes, which in tern led to talking about Fat and Frantic and much reminiscing of the good old days of Greenbelt in the late 80’s and listening to Fat and Frantic on the main stage and their fantastic songs, a little bit of digging around and I was impressed to find you can even get one of their songs from itunes, although it was the not forest version of Brian, which while good would not give anyone a real taste of the true Fat and Frantic, you can also read a little about them here but there seams to be a great lack of info on this great band on line so for those of you that remember I thought it would be good to have a little reminisce here, please leave any comments on the subject of the great band Fat and Frantic, I might even see if I can put a proper FAF webpage together at some stage!
